At the age of 5 I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour, and at the age of 16 I surrendered my life to be a missionary.
In 1996 I graduated from high school, and spent one year working as an intern at the First Baptist Church of Milford, OH. The following year I enrolled and began studying missions at Crown College in Knoxville, TN. During my second year at Crown I was given the opportunity to spend 6 months in a missionary intership program. While in Peru the Lord spoke to my heart about returning to South America as a missionary, and in May of 2001, I completed my studies and graduated from Crown College.
While attending Crown College I met a young lady named Christina Tomlinson. After the period of a year of getting to know her and her family better, I asked her to marry me and we got engaged. In December of 2001, we got married and began a new life together.
The desire of my wife since the time I met her was to be a missionary’s wife. In the year 2002, we started raising money to return to South America as missionaries. While on deputation, in June of 2003, Christina gave birth to our first child and we named her Emily Grace. After about 14 months of traveling we said goodbye to our families and left for Peru to begin our language studies.
Shortly after arriving to Peru we found out we were expecting our second daughter. and on March 19th, 2005, Meagan Faith was born. We have been in Peru for just over two and a half years now and we praise the Lord for helping us each step of the way.
On October 11, 2006, our third daughter was born. Hannah Brooke was born in Lima, Peru, and she has been a tremendous blessing to our family.
In May of last year we started the Iglesia Bautista El Faro, and the Lord has allowed us to work with Luis Benites. Luis was very rough around the edges when we started, even though he had been through Bible college, but the Lord has allowed us to disciple and coach him and hopefully one day soon he will be able to be voted in as the Pastor. There is nothing more exciting than when you can help make someone else succesful, and that has been our goal with Luis.
In July of 2007 the Lord is allowing us to branch out and start another Bible study in the district of San Borja. A christian man there has given us permision to use his house, which can seat about 40 people, for a Bible study. The prayer of those involved is that one day that Bible study will form into a church. It has been bathed in prayer, and we are going to let God build His church, while we focus on preaching the gospel and making disciples.
Our goal has never been to be the biggest or greatest work on this earth, but rather to be involved in the biggest and greatest work. That is the work of Jesus Christ and His mission that every tongue, tribe, and nation hear about what He did for them on the cross, so that glory may be brought to His name.
