Jerry and Marty have several things in common.  Both were saved at an early age, both were reared in Christian homes, both were raised in independent Baptist churches and both felt the call of God to be missionaries as young people.  The parents of Jerry are Verlis & Margret, missionaries with the Bearing Precious Seed.  Jerry surrendered to go to Mexico at the age of 16 on a Mexico trip led by Carlos Demarest. L.H. Ashcraft, missionary in Monterrey, was preaching as Jerry surrendered his life to serve in Mexico. He finished high school, graduating from Milford Christian Academy in 1978. Upon finishing High School, he continued his studies at the School of the Scriptures at First Baptist Church, Milford OH.  He graduated there in 1981. Jerry married Marty in June of 1980. Marty graduated high school in 1977 at her home town of Concord, MI and continued her studies at the Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati where she graduated in 1980 as a Registered Nurse.

            Jerry & Marty began deputation in 1982 and headed for language school in December of 1984. They finished the year of language school in Querétaro, Mexico and worked one year with Les Garner in Chihuahua. In June, 1987 they moved into Cd. Guerrero, Chihuahua, and started the Iglesia Bautista Calvario (Calvary Baptist Church). That worked was organized and turned over to a national pastor in July of 2002. Through that work, a total of 5 other works have been started that reach into 15 towns and villages.

In June, 2003 Jerry & Marty relocated to the coastal city of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, a city of over 500,000 people with no independent, fundamental Baptist churches or missionaries. In January, 2004 the Iglesia Bautista Fundamental (Fundamental Baptist Church) was started.  In September, 2006, they began classes of the School of the Scriptures bible college which began with 17 students. The key to reaching the world is through duplication and the training of men.  The church has been growing and in 2008 the average attendance surpassed 100.  Door knocking and soul winning is the key to the work.  In August, 2008 every house in that city had received a visit from our church as well as a Gospel of John & Romans and literature from their church.  They have distributed more than ten tons of literature by the end of 2008.

            Jerry & Marty have 4 children. Daniel and Jennifer are grown, Christopher is preparing himself to go into the ministry as a missionary and Angela is still at home helping her Mom and Dad.
